Don’t miss the Sunday contribution day!
Contribution day will be in the afternoon of Sunday, February 23.
What’s a contribution day?
A contribution or code sprint is when people get together to work on one particular goal. In this case, we’re working on various Drupal issues.
First Time Contribution Workshop
Not a coder? That’s perfectly fine! There will be mentors available for those who need a little help to get started.
We will also have a Contribution Workshop for first-time contributors. There will be help setting up the necessary tools, understanding which types of issues to work on, and even some live demos of the complete contribution process (from finding an issue, fixing the problem, making a patch, uploading a patch, and reviewing the patch for commit).
Not everyone who works on open source projects is a developer. Smaller tasks help the less experienced gain confidence and experience, which, in turn, leads to more contributions. Code is very important, but so are all the other parts.
What will we be working on?
We have several projects and initiatives to collaborate on. Including:
- Drupal 9's new theme, Olivero
- Drupal 9 preparation
- Simplytest.me documentation
- Feeds/Migrate for Drupal 8/9
- Rector for Drupal 8
There will also be breakout groups to focus on things like Accessibility, Coding Standards, and Documentation.
Be prepared to have a really good time…
Trust us, it’s a lot of fun when you get into it. It’s an excellent opportunity to meet other contributors, help collaborate and brainstorm, and move the Drupal project forward.
Honestly, it's pretty good time.
What if I get hungry?
We will make sure you stay fed and hydrated... probably some pizza and some more healthy options. We got you covered!
